Jeremy’s collection of Polaroids depicting 212 unique people he regularly interacted with over a roughly three year period.

At the time Jeremy lived with Christopher and I in Columbus where we all attended photo school together. On the weekends Jeremy would return to Lodi (his hometown) where he worked as a delivery driver for the local pizza shop D’Antonio’s. In this era, the photos, kept in small plastic binder, along with his Polaroid camera, were virtually always with him. I can picture in my mind the binder being on the dash of his boat size station wagon.

Jeremy claimed that he used the photos as a reference guide as a way to put a face to a name when sharing stories of his hedonistic activity in Columbus with the Lodi crew and vice versa (although I recall the more outrageous stories originating from his time in Lodi). Criteria for inclusion in the book was that one had to be mentioned by name when not present. Over time I believe the project shifted to an extensive document of virtually everyone Jeremy interacted with. The project concluded in 2005, the year Jeremy graduated and stopped delivering pizzas, thus two fewer venues for him to interact with large amounts of people.

This is by far my favorite of Jeremy’s projects. It’s the closest to my own sensibilities: an extensive document that illustrates that the purposes of collecting the images was as important as the images themselves.
